CFMoto 700 revealed in leaked design patents

CFMoto, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer from China is expected to launch their motorcycles in India from July 2019. The brand has confirmed the date as 4th July 2019 when they will be commencing operations in India and the bikes have been spotted testing on various occasions on Indian roads.

Now, a new image has emerged on the internet showing the design patents of a new streetfighter expected to be the CFMoto 700. The bike is expected to be powered by a parallel-twin engine and the design drawings appear to be complete and lead us to believe that the drawing could be the final production renderings of the 700cc motorcycle.

The bike appears to feature bespoke components which will be atpar with the Japanese manufacturers, instead of using cost-effective ones which are sometimes seen on Chinese motorcycles. The bike features a tubular steel frame which works around the fuel tank and the top tubes are exposed to give it a design feature. The swingarm is likely to be made of aluminium and has a nice sculpted design.

In terms of hardware, the design drawings reveal an upside-down front fork, monoshock suspension on the rear, radially mounted front disc brakes with 4-piston calipers and disc brakes on the rear with two piston calipers, both units will be hydraulically operated and will be equipped with an ABS system. The engine appears to be borrowed from the Kawasaki Ninja, at least the lower half of it which appears similar in design, but the block and piston are likely to be upsized as the number ‘700’ that clearly appears on the left-hand side engine cover, denoting the engine displacement. If the speculations pan out correctly, the engine is likely to develop more than 70 HP of power and 70 Nm of torque.

The brand is likely to launch its – 300NK, 650NK, 650MT, 650GT soon in India and the brand will bring the motorcycles through the CKD route and the bikes are likely to be assembled at the brand’s Indian partner of operations, AMW Motorcycles facility in Hyderabad.
