Can the Ather Rizta perform better in sales?

Ather is gearing up to launch the new Rizta electric scooter in the Indian market. However, less than 24 hours before its launch we now have the first spy shot of the Rizta sans camouflaged. The side and the rear three-quarters of the Rizta can be clearly seen in this spied image which reveals a few details about the upcoming electric scooter. Will the new family-oriented electric scooter perform as good as its sporty cousin?

Ather Rizta – Seat and Ergonomics

While Ather in the past revealed that the USP of the Rizta is going to be its extra large seat. In addition to this, the brand also hinted that the EV will be family oriented. Now, spy shots reveal a rather large seat as well as a pillion grab rail integrated backrest. Spyshot also shows two adults on the Rizta along with heavy camera equipment sitting comfortably along with some room to spare. The floorboard section also appears to be flat and quite generous.

Ather Rizta – Design Highlights

The Rizta is also likely to come with a flat but sloping front fascia along with front apron integrated lights. The front fender also appears to be quite large and is likely to protect the rider from water splashes in addition to providing greater aerodynamic efficiency.

Furthermore, the Ather Rizta also features a wraparound tail lamp cluster which is likely to integrate the turn indicators as well. The tail section also has Ather branding and a rather large boot section. This leads us to believe that the Rizta is likely to come with a very large under seat compartment. The Rizta branding can also be seen in the image which is on the side of the ev.

Ather Rizta – Feature Highlights

Spyshots also reveal the dashboard, mirrors and wheels of the EV which appear to have been borrowed from the Ather 450 EV. However, the size of the wheels could be different than the Ather 450’s. The display is likely to be the same and the same can be said for the switchgear, which will help balance the economies of scale.

Ather Rizta – Battery and Powertrain

Ather is likely to use the same 2.9 kWh battery pack in its base trim, while higher-spec models could get the 3.7 kWh battery pack. The battery pack is likely to be borrowed from the Ather 450 scooter. However, the power unit could be similar in architecture, but Ather is likely to offer a different state of tune to it. This is likely to be more family friendly and could offer a slightly better range at the expense of performance.

Full details of the Ather Rizta will be revealed tomorrow after its launch, so stay tuned.
