Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD has revealed its first pure electric supercar model U9. The U9 electric supercar will be sold under the Yangwang brand, which is BYD’s high-end car vertical. BYD announced that the Yangwang U9 electric supercar will come with a price tag of RMB 1.68 Million. This roughly converts to INR 1.9 Crore. In an addition to this, BYD also revealed that the company will commence deliveries on the electric supercar U9 by this summer in the Chinese market.
BYD claims that the Yangwang U9 can a top speed of 309.19 km/h. Furthermore, the supercar can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds. Also, recent testing revealed that the EV is capable of achieving a quarter-mile (0-400m) distance in just 9.78 seconds.
Powering the Yangwang U9 is the e 4 platform. The platform comprises of four independent electric motors. Thanks to the e 4 platform the Yangwang U9 powertrain features four wheel independent torque output control. The Yangwang U9 produces 1,300 Hp of power and 1680 Nm of torque.
Another breakthrough technology on the Yangwang U9 is the BYD DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System. The Intelligent Body Control System enables the U9 electric supercar to have an adjustable suspension travel of up to 75mm. The DiSus-X also features single-axis lifting speed of up to 500mm/s, with an instantaneous lifting force of over 1 ton.
The BYD Yangwang U9 comes with fine-tuned thermal management system to better risist high temperatures. Thanks to this the brand claims a 100% increase in maximum cooling capacity. The Blade Battery also offers discharging and cooling
functions and Dual Plug-in Ultra-fast charging technology.
Thanks to this, the Blade Battery on the U9 can charge with a power of 500 kW. Furthermore, the BYD Yangwang U9 comes with 12 sets of active and passive aerodynamic packages. This not only helps reduce drag coefficient but also enhances heat dissipation efficiency.
The Yangwang U9 electric supercar boasts a super carbon-fibre cabin made with next-generation Cell-To-Body (CTB) technology. The composite structure boasts a torsional stiffness of 54425 Nm/degree. It can also sustain a single-side compressive load of the roof exceeding 11 tons.
The U9 also comes with DiLink150 intelligent platform, with 4nm 5G chips. The system is specifically designed for race track driving. The intelligent platform features racing assistance and also provides extensive track driving services. BYD reveals that the DiLink150 platform comes with detailed information on close to 30 racetracks across China.
The Yangwang U9 also comes with dual cockpit design interiors with a central infotainment system. The supercar also comes with two 14-way adjustable seats and Dynaudio Evidence Series high-end audio system.
