BYD India has announced that the just-launched BYD Seal electric sedan has collected 200 bookings in the Indian market. The New Energy Vehicles (NEV) manufacturer, introduced the Seal EV, a D-segment electric sedan, on 5th March 2024. In just one day the luxury electric sedan received 200 bookings. The bookings showcase the strong demand for luxurious and high-performance electric vehicles in India. In addition to this, BYD also revealed that the Seal EV has been nominated as a finalist for the ‘World Car of the Year’ at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show.
BYD is offering the Seal electric sedan with three variants. The Dynamic variant comes with a price tag of INR 41 lakh ex-showroom. The Premium trim comes with a price of INR 45.55 lakh ex-showroom. And the top-spec Performance variant with a price tag of INR 53 lakh ex-showroom. BYD has further announced that customers can avail high value offers by booking the BYD Seal by March 31, 2024.
The BYD Seal is available in two powertrain options as well as a rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive option. The Dynamic variant comes with a 150 kW/310 Nm electric motor and rear wheel drive. The Seal EV with the Dynamic trim comes with a 61.4 kWh battery pack and claims a range of 510 km on a single charge. The Premium variant features a 230 kW / 360 Nm electric motor and rear wheel drive.
In the Premium trim the Seal EV comes with a 82.5 kW battery pack and claims a range of 650 km on a single charge. The top-spec Performance trim the Seal EV comes with a 390 kW motor with all wheel drive and a 82.5 kWh battery pack. In the Performance trim the Seal EV claims a range of 570 km on a single charge. The Seal EV in the Performance trim also claims a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds.
