BYD is in the news yet again, this time with an India Book of Record entry. Its fully-electric MPV offering, e6, completed a 6-day drive tour of over 2,203km from Mumbai to New Delhi. The MPV covered a total of 9 cities across 4 states, marking the longest journey by any EV in India. The all-new e6 with no emissions passed through the eco-sensitive zones around National Parks along the way. This demonstrates a crucial step towards a better environment, propelled by the sales of EVs in the market.
This tour also comes under the ‘Sustainable Drive for a Sustainable India’ initiative, in which BYD e6 is taking the lead charge. With this drive, e6 saved a total of 413 kg of carbon dioxide. This is a new benchmark set by an EV. Therefore, it also led to its entry into the India Book of Records.
Charging Infrastructure
With the support of Charge Zone as its charging partner, the 2,203 km drive is a testimony to the seamless availability of chargers. As of today, BYD has completed over 47,957,202 km across India together with its partners. This is equivalent to 10,883 round trips from Mumbai to Delhi. BYD e6 is an example of a trusted vehicle in terms of safety, comfort, and drivability. Furthermore, it also has a long range on a single charge.
BYD e6 In India
Launched back in November 2021 for the B2B segment BYD e6 is garnering significant sales. With the largest boot space of 580 litres in the MPV category, BYD e6 ensures a comfortable ride for its occupants. BYD is also talking highly of its equipped Blade Battery. Leveraging the highly safe lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, Blade Battery has proved itself for its high safety, long-range, and enduring longevity. In fact, the battery also successfully passed the nail penetration test, the most rigorous way to test the thermal runaway of batteries.
