BYD Atto 3 EV will get a rotating touchscreen infotainment

Written by Rohit Tonapi

It is no secret by now that BYD India is planning to expand its lineup in India, which currently consists of only the all-electric e6 MPV. The next product from BYD India will be the Atto 3. After a lot of leaks, speculations and spy shots, it looks like the launch is getting closer. Ahead of its launch, BYD India has taken it to social media and started posting a bunch of teasers for the new all-electric SUV.

BYD Atto 3’s Rotating Infotainment Display Teased

The latest teaser from BYD India shows the Atto 3’s rotating touchscreen infotainment display in action. This is not something new from BYD, as this is also present in the e6 MPV. In the Atto 3, the display measures 12.3-inch in size. As expected, it will come with all the features that are the norm these days. Thus, it will get FM radio, Bluetooth & USB connectivity, etc.

Interestingly, when BYD launched the Atto 3 in the international markets, it did not come with a voice assistant and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The brochures mentioned that it would be available in Q3 2022. Thus, we can’t say if it will get these features when it makes its way to India.

Apart from that, we know the interior will sport an Eclipse Blue + Hazy Grey colour scheme. And in addition to the rotating infotainment display, there will be a host of other features too. These include – a panoramic sunroof, a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with controls, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, multi-colour ambient lighting and more.

BYD Atto 3 – Powertrain, Battery & Range

BYD will equip the Atto 3 with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that will power the front wheels only and put out 201 BHP and 310 Nm of torque.

As for the battery pack, BYD offers a Standard Range as well as an Extended Range option in the international markets. The former gets a 49.92 kWh battery pack and the latter, a 60.48 kWh one. Both battery packs also use BYD Blade Battery technology.

As per the WLTP cycle, the Standard Range model has a range of 345 km. On the other hand, the Extended Range model has a range of 420 km, as per the WLTP cycle.
