BSA reveals B65 Scambler based on Gold Star 650

Classic Legends, the company behind the revival of the iconic BSA brand, has unveiled the B65 Scrambler at the Motorcycle Live 2024 show in Birmingham. The new model is based on the Gold Star 650, a neo-retro roadster that has been well-received in the market.

B65 Scambler Powertrain

The B65 Scrambler retains the 652 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine from the Gold Star 650, producing 45 bhp at 6500 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, ensuring smooth and responsive performance.

Off-Road Ready?

The Scrambler variant features several design modifications to enhance its off-road capabilities. The bike is equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, providing excellent grip on rough terrains. The suspension travel has been increased, and the ground clearance is higher compared to the Gold Star 650.

B65 Scambler Design

Visually, the B65 Scrambler sports a dual-tone color scheme on the fuel tank, with aesthetically designed fins around the water jacket for a retro look. The bike also features a new exhaust with an up-swept design, a fully digital instrument cluster, and LED headlamps with a new grill.

The Scrambler version includes new handlebars with a cross brace, an all-new subframe, and a sporty tail section. The side body panels are adorned with racing numbers, adding to its rugged appeal.

Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Effect?

BSA’s decision to launch the B65 Scrambler is seen as a direct challenge to the recently launched Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650, both boasting impressive brand heritage and similar engine displacement. The B65 Scrambler is expected to be launched in India by early 2025, with a price tag around INR 3.30 lakh, aiming to undercut its competitor.
