BS6 BMW G310R and G310GS to get BIG PRICE CUT

According to a report, BMW is likely to launch the new BS6 compliant G310R and the G310GS with heavy cuts in their pricing. Both motorcycles are being reported to get a discount of INR 75,000 to INR 85,000, as compared to the BS4 predecessor when the brand launches the BS6 upgraded models. Both the BMW G310R and the G310GS are expected to be launched around the festive season. Apart from the discounted price and the BS6 upgraded engine the brand is also likely to offer the bikes with an updated slipper assist clutch.

The BMW G310R features roadster styling with short fenders, angular headlamp unit, pod-style speedometer cluster with fully digital LCD display, sharp fuel tank design, boomerang-shaped side cowling, scooped single-seat, straight handlebars, pillion grab rails and fender-mounted LED tail lamps.

The BMW G310R features a tubular steel frame with a load-bearing drive unit 41mm upside-down front forks with 140mm travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock directly hinged to a solid die-cast aluminium swingarm with 131mm suspension travel

The BMW G310GS features styling inspired by the brands larger Adventure series bikes and comes with a front beak, halogen headlamps, small flyscreen, angular tank and tank shrouds, scooped single-seat ergonomically designed for long-distance touring, a rear grabrail integrated tail rack and rear fender integrated LED tail lamp. The bike comes with 17-inch alloy wheel on both ends shod in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.

In terms of mechanical equipment, the BMW G310GS comes with Tubular steel frame with a bolted rear frame 41mm diameter upside-down front fork on the front with 180mm travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock directly hinged to a solid die-cast aluminium swingarm with 180mm suspension travel. The G310GS comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels shod in 110/80 front and 150/70 rear dual-sport tyres. Stopping power on both the bikes comes from 300mm single front disc brake and a 240mm single disc brake on the rear armed with BMW Motorrad ABS.

Both the BMW G310R and the G310GS are powered by the same engine which is the BMW 313cc, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined, liquid-cooled, four valves, DOHC with cam followers and a wet sump lubrication system producing 34 hp of power and 28 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a mechanically operated wet clutch. The fuel delivery is through an electronic fuel injection system and the exhaust passes through a closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter that currently conforms to BS4 emission standards.

The discounted price tag could be introductory and the and possibly increased later in the year but if sources are to be believed the BMW G310R and the G310GS are likely to be priced lower than the BS6 compliant KTM 390 Duke and the KTM 390 Adventure.
