Bajaj Auto has launched the BS6 emission compliant version of the Pulsar RS 200 at the price os INR 1,44,966 ex-showroom, Delhi. The outgoing BS4 compliant version was priced at INR 1,41,933 ex-showroom, Delhi, making the BS6 model INR 3,033 higher than the BS4 Pulsar RS 200.
Apart from the upgraded engine, the motorcycle in terms of design and styling largely remains the same and the BS6 version features dual projector headlamps, LED marker lights, angular nose design, sharp and angular bodywork with graphics, windscreen visor, low mounted side slung exhaust, step-up seat, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, rear cowl integrated pillion grabrails and alloy wheels.
The Pulsar RS 200 is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, triple-spark, 4-valve fuel-injected DTS-I Fi engine that makes 24.5 ps of power and 18.7 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 has the same exterior dimensions as the BS4 version and measures 1999mm in length, 765mm in width, 1114mm in height, 157mm of ground clearance and 1345mm of wheelbase but the BS6 Pulsar RS 200 weighs 166 kg at the kerb which is around 2 kgs more than the BS4 which is likely to be because of the larger exhaust after-treatment system.
In terms of the mechanical hardware, the Pulsar RS 200 features conventional telescopic suspension with anti-friction bush on the front and Nitrox canister assisted monoshock on the rear. Stopping power comes from 300mm single disc on the front with ABS and a 230mm single disc on the rear wheel.
The brand has also launched the popular Pulsar NS 200 in the BS6 avatar which is the naked roadster version but costs INR 10,500 more than the BS4 model and is priced at INR 1,25,030 ex-showroom, Delhi. The naked roadster model shares the cycle parts and the engine with the Pulsar RS 200 with the only difference being in its naked design and styling.
