BS6 BMW Motorrad G 310 GS Review

Last Year, BMW Motorrad launched the baby adventurer, the G 310 GS. BMW Motorrad’s smallest adventure motorcycle is now not just BS6 compliant but also affordable by a substantial amount, compared to the predecessor. The bike in the BS6 avatar also got more equipment for a lesser price. But close to the beginning of 2021, BMW Motorrad hiked the prices of the G 310 GS by INR 5,000. Still, the BMW badge comes at a relatively affordable price tag starting at INR 2.90 lakh ex-showroom. 

We got our hands on the BS6 compliant model and in these video reviews, we reveal all the details of the updated G 310 GS so that you can make an informed buying decision. 

BS6 BMW Motorrad G 310 GS – New Features & Changes

BMW Motorrad claims that the motorcycle is now more refined when the powertrain is concerned. The brand has also employed a new throttle-by-wire system, replacing the old mechanical cable twist system. The new motorcycle also comes with an adjustable clutch and brake levers that will help the rider adjust the lever’s reach when wearing different size gloves.

Also new is the switchgear, which appears premium and comes with a headlight, DRL and high-beam switch integrated into a single button. But surprisingly, BMW Motorrad has deleted the switchable ABS on the new model. The new motorcycle also comes with BMW LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights as standard. Also available are new colour themes such as the ’40 Years Of GS’ (Limited), BMW Rallye and Polar White. 

BS6 BMW Motorrad G 310 GS – Engine Specifications

Powering the G 310 GS is a BS6/Euro5 compliant 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine. The reverse-inclined DOHC motor produces 34 Hp of power and 28 Nm of torque. The motor comes with a 6-speed transmission. In addition to this, BMW Motorrad has added a self-reinforcing assist/slipper clutch to the gearbox. 

BS6 BMW Motorrad G 310 GS – Mechanical Specifications

The adventure touring motorcycle comes with a 41 mm upside-down front fork with 180 mm of travel. The bike also gets a spring pre-load adjustable central strut with 180 mm of suspension travel on the rear. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with dual-sport tyres. In terms of dimensions, the baby GS measures 2,075 mm in length and comes with 1,420 mm of wheelbase. The bike also gets a commanding 835 mm of seat height and weighs 175 kg in the fully-fueled, road-ready state.
