Benelli has bumped up the prices of the Leoncino 500 scrambler in the Indian market. In February 2021, the brand introduced the BS6 compliant version of the Leoncino 500 at the starting price of INR 4,59,900 ex-showroom, Delhi. The motorcycle is available in two colour options – Steel Grey and Leoncino Red. The Red colour option comes with a price tag of INR 4,69,900 ex-showroom. The prices were introductory at the time.
It now appears that the introductory period is over. Hence the motorcycles have become dearer by INR 10,900 on the Steel Grey and INR 10,000 on the Leoncino Red. The new ex-showroom price of the Benelli Leoncino Steel Grey is INR 4,69,900, while the Leoncino Red comes at INR 4,79,900 ex-showroom.
Powering the BS6 Benelli Leoncino a 500cc twin-cylinder DOHC engine. The liquid-cooled motor also comes with an electronic fuel injection system. The twin-pot unit produces 47.5 PS of power and 46 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 features a steel trellis frame with a lattice design in black.
The motorcycle rides on a 50mm upside-down front fork suspension, and a monoshock suspension on the rear with rebound & preload adjust. The bike comes with 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels, 320mm dual-discs on the front and a single 260mm disc on the rear. The Leoncino 500 is 2160mm in length, 1160mm in overall height and offers a 160mm ground clearance and 1490mm of wheelbase.
The Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 comes with classic street scrambler looks and what Benelli calls a Lion Cub Design. The motorcycle features a traditional round shape headlamp, peanut-shaped fuel tank, rounded mirrors, eccentric pod-style instruments, a sleek tail section, chopped fenders and bench-style seats with tuck and roll upholstery. The motorcycle also comes with features such as a stacked headlamp with projector lights, LED taillamps, LED indicators, digital instruments cluster, dual-channel ABS and the Lion of Pesaro motif on the front fender.
