Brixton Motorcycles has launched four new motorcycles in the Indian market. The most expensive bike is the the Cromwell 1200 X, priced at INR 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This motorcycle derived from the Cromwell 1200 is limited to a 100 units only.

Specifications

The Cromwell 1200 X is powered by a 1,222 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers 82 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and comes with a slipper clutch for smoother gear transitions and reduced rider fatigue. This combination ensures a robust and responsive performance, ideal for both city commuting and long-distance touring.

Cromwell 1200 X Features

The bike features a retro-inspired design with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round LED headlamp, and minimalistic body panels. It boasts a round fully digital instrument cluster, providing essential riding information with a vintage feel. The split seat design and dual exhaust setup add to its classic charm.

For suspension duties, the 1200 X is equipped with KYB 41mm upside-down forks at the front and a KYB rear monoshock, both of which are fully adjustable. This setup ensures a comfortable ride on various terrains. The braking system includes dual 320 mm front discs and a single 240 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety and control.

Market Position and Competition

Brixton’s entry into the Indian market with the Cromwell 1200 X positions it against other premium modern-classic motorcycles like the Triumph Bonneville T120 and the BMW R nineT. With its competitive pricing, the 1200 X aims to carve out a niche among enthusiasts who appreciate a blend of classic styling and modern performance. To have a litre-class motorcycle under INR 10 lakh is a tempting offer.

Our Thoughts

The launch of the Cromwell 1200 X at INR 9.10 lakh is expected to generate significant interest among Indian motorcycling aficionados. Combining a retro aesthetic with cutting-edge performance and features, the Cromwell 1200 X is poised to make a strong impact in the premium motorcycle segment. While this one is limited only to a 100 units, its cousin the Cromwell 1200 could get more takers as it is priced even lower.
