One of India’s first smart mobility solutions companies, Bounce Electric, has announced the launch date for its first consumer electric scooter. Scheduled for unveiling on December 2nd, 2021, customers can purchase the upcoming Bounce Infinity on the same day. The company has also stated that customers can book the e-scooter for INR 499, with deliveries scheduled for early 2022.
Bounce Electric – Battery as a Service
Bounce Electric will enable its customers to purchase the ‘Made in India’ e-scooter with a ‘Battery as a service’ option. This allows customers to purchase the Bounce Infinity without its battery, making it more affordable. Additionally, customers can utilize Bounce’s battery swapping network while travelling and only pay when they exchange an empty battery.
The brand will allow customers to purchase its electric scooter with a smart, removable, lithium-ion battery pack. Customers of the new Bounce Infinity can remove the battery pack and charge it based on their convenience and requirement. Recently, the brand acquired a 100% stake in 22Motors via a deal valued at USD 7 million in 2021.
Bounce Electric – Manufacturing Capacity
Thanks to the deal, Bounce acquired 22Motors’ manufacturing plant at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, along with its intellectual property. The company also stated that the plant sports a manufacturing capacity of 180,000 scooters per year. By considering the potential of the Indian market, Bounce has planned to set up another plant located in southern India. The company has also prepared itself to invest USD 100 million in the EV business over the next one year.
