Bookings open for Triumph Speed 400 & Scrambler 400 X in India

Triumph has commenced bookings for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X bikes in India. Co-developed in partnership with Bajaj, they are the most affordable range of Triumph bikes in India.

Interested customers can book the bike of their choice by paying a token amount of INR 2,000. This is fully refundable if cancelled later. The price reveal is set for 5 July 2023.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X & Speed 400 : More Details

The Speed 400 will be made in India. This is a very good looking bike with modern design elements. We can also note some resemblance with the Speed Twin 900.

The Scrambler 400 X is based on the Speed 400, but it has a few distinguishing features. The Scrambler 400 X comes with hand guards, split seats, dual-purpose tyres and a different exhaust.

Triumph has offered a host of features on the new bike. These include the likes of ride-by-wire, all-LED lighting set-up, switchable traction control and more. The rider is aided by a semi-digital instrument cluster. The information displayed here includes dual odometers, fuel level, gear indicator and more. Additionally, to keep the rider’s phone or any other accessory charged, there is a USB C port as well.

Hardware of the Triumph 400 bikes in India

The Triumph Speed 400 is equipped with a 43 mm big piston suspension with 140 mm of travel at the front and a rear mono shock. Meanwhile, The Scrambler 400 X comes with a 43mm USD BPF front fork with 150 mm wheel travel. The rear unit gets preload adjustment. The Speed 400 comes with 17-inch alloys at both ends, while the Scrambler gets 19-inch front rims..

Powertrain of the Triumph 400 range of bikes

Triumph offers a 398cc liquid cooled motor on the Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X. This engine develops 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel using a 6-speed gearbox.
