Bookings open for Brixton Motorcycles in India, Who’ll Buy?

Brixton Motorcycles, the British motorcycle brand known for its neo-retro design philosophy, has officially announced the opening of bookings for its first set of models in India. The announcement comes after the company’s earlier declaration in April this year to enter the Indian market. Partnering with KAW Veloce Motors, Brixton aims to cater to the growing demand for premium motorcycles in the country.

The Models

Brixton will launch four models in India: the Cromwell 1200, Cromwell 1200X, Crossfire 500X, and Crossfire 500 XC.The Cromwell 1200 and 1200X are powered by a 1,222cc twin-cylinder engine, delivering 82 bhp and 108 Nm of torque. The Crossfire 500X and 500 XC, on the other hand, feature a 486cc twin-cylinder engine, producing 47 bhp and 43 Nm of torque. The bikes are designed to offer classic aesthetics and modern performance. While the premium 1200s will battle it out with brands like BMW, Ducati and Triumph, the lower capacity 500s will go up against the KTMs, Husqvarnas, Royal Enfields and Hondas.

Booking Details

Pre-bookings for the Brixton motorcycles have commenced at a token amount of INR 2,999. Interested buyers can register their interest through Brixton’s social media handles. The motorcycles are slated for an official launch in November this year. The company plans to expand its dealership network to 15 cities by the end of 2024, with a long-term goal of reaching 50 cities by the following year.

Target Audience

The question on everyone’s mind is: who will buy these premium motorcycles? Brixton’s entry into the Indian market is strategically timed to tap into the growing segment of affluent, style-conscious riders who seek a blend of performance and aesthetics. The neo-retro design, coupled with advanced engineering, is expected to attract young professionals, adventure enthusiasts, and classic motorcycle aficionados alike. However, their success will be based on their presence across the country in terms of after sales network.

Manufacturing and Expansion Plans

Brixton has partnered with KAW Veloce Motors to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This facility will cater to the local market’s needs and ensure that the motorcycles are tailored to Indian riding conditions. The initial production capacity is set to exceed 40,000 units annually, with plans to scale up as demand grows.
