MG India has released an official video statement that reiterates their commitment regarding the delivery of the MG Astor. The company mentioned that the erratic supply of semiconductor chips is hampering their production stream. Moreover, the Style and Super trims are in huge demand, which was not as per MG’s expectations. And hence the company is altering its production schedule so as to serve its customers at best.
To provide peace of mind, customers can check the delivery status of their vehicle by visiting the My MG app, website, or by phone call. The target is to deliver the first batch of 5,000 units of the car before the end of December. And in case the dates get carry-forwarded over to next year, MG will protect the customers against any price hike. Previously, MG had delivered 500 Astor on the auspicious day of Dhanteras.
The launch of MG has sent shivers down the spine of major automotive manufacturers. The competitive price, along with the feature-packed offering, is what Indians are looking for. And the MG Astor has a perfect blend of both. Given the rising demand for SUVs in the market, Astor would attract a large number of potential customers to the showrooms. And as per initial reports, it looks like customers are already in love with the SUV. But, we wait to see how MG tackles the overwhelming response amidst the issue of semiconductor shortage.
MG has put on a starting price of INR 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Style trim. Meanwhile, the top-spec Savvy trim with automatic gearbox will cost you INR 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom). A total of five colours are on the offers. This includes Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White and our personal pick Starry Black. Astor enters the cut throat competitive mid-size SUV segment, which currently has a plethora of options. The top-selling models include Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and more.
