BMW recently launched the all-new 3rd-generation X6 in India and silently upgraded the line up with the BMW X7 M50d. Now the brand has quietly introduced the BMW X5 SportX trim variant which starts at the price of INR 74.90 lakh ex-showroom, India, which is approximately INR 8 lakhs less than the xLine variant that is currently available priced at INR 82.90 lakh ex-showroom, India.
The brand introduced the all-new fourth-generation SUV with the Sport variant which was launched at INR 72.90 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new BMW X5 SportX variant replaces the earlier entry-level ‘Sport’ trim variant in the BMW X5 portfolio. Being INR 8 lakhs cheaper than the xLine variant the BMW X5 Sport also misses out on equipment on the outside as well as its inside.
The new entry-level BMW X5 SportX does not feature the exterior character package and 20-inch alloy wheels that are available on the xLine and M Sport. The SUV also comes with LED headlamps and the BMW LaserLight option is not available on the SportX. The Comfort Access System with the electric operation of split-tailgate is also not included in the X5 SportX trim.
On the interiors, the SUV does not feature the BMW display Key with LCD colour display and touch control panel, 16 speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound system, 360-degree surround-view camera, wireless charging, Travel & Comfort System (USB type-C connections), telephony, ‘Vernasca’ leather upholstery, crystal glass ‘Clarity’ etc.
The BMW X5 SportX comes with features such as Active Air Stream Kidney Grille, LED headlights, LED taillights, LED foglights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a high gloss ash grain wood trim on the interiors, Sensatec upholstery, 10 speaker sound system, 4-zone automatic climate control, 12.3-inch fully digital instruments display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with iDrive controls, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, navigation, BMW Gesture Control etc.
The BMW X5 in the SportX trim comes only with a single-engine option and is powered by the 3.0-litre (2,993cc) six-cylinder, 4-valve per cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbocharged diesel engine which produces 265 HP of power @ 4000 RPM and 620 Nm of torque @ 1500-2500 RPM coupled to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
