BMW will soon launch 3-Series M340i xDrive in India

BMW India is all set to launch a new M Performance model to its current portfolio. As per reports, the M340i is likely to hit the Indian roads on March 10, 2021. Recently, with the launch of the 2 Series Gran Coupe petrol, the 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition, the X5 M Competition, the X3 M and the 3 Series Grand Limousine launch last month it is evident that BMW is taking the India market with the utmost importance because in 2020 there was a very positive response in terms of the sales figure and the German automaker wants to get a larger share of the pie this year.

Under the Hood

M340i is a luxury sedan which would not let you down in terms of the performance. A 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine does the duty in the M340i which makes 374 HP of power and 500 Nm of torque. The gearbox matched to the engine is an 8-speed automatic unit. BMW’s xDrive system channels the power to all the four-wheels. It is worthy of a mention that M340i is not the same as the M3, which makes a whopping 480 HP of power. This car on sale in the international market gets M Sport brakes, M-specific suspension technology, an M Sport exhaust system and M Sport differential. All these upgraded hardware does make a significant difference to the performance of the car as compared to the regular 3 Series.

Features List and Price

Being the M Performance trim, the vehicle is likely to get all the features present in the top-spec 3 Series including voice commands, three-zone automatic climate control, gesture control, ambient lighting, LED headlights and tail-lights, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system coupled with BMW’s latest iDrive system, a digital instrument cluster, front and rear parking sensors, a parking camera and more. The car has not been unveiled officially, but we anticipate that the M340i will cost somewhere around INR 65 lakhs. Currently, there are 3 models on sale in India under the 3 Series brand name, 330i Sport, 330i M Sport in petrol and the 320d in diesel.
