BMW has had a decent yet in India in terms of sales. The German luxury car brand retailed 9,641 units of cars while BMW Motorrad managed to sell 2,403 two-wheelers in India. Out of this, the sales of BMW cars was 9,000 units while Mini accounted for 641 units. BMW has also mentioned that their biggest SUV, the X7 still remains to be sold out for the Indian market. BMW managed the sales figures thanks to their SUV portfolio which accounted for almost 50% of total sales and the 5-series and 3-series are star performers in the sedan segment. In the Mini portfolio, it is the Countryman which accounted for 70% of total sales, for obvious ‘SPACIOUS’ reasons.
The sales figures for BMW Motorrad are propelled thanks to the affordable G 310 R & G 310 GS models which account for 85% of total sales. Other popular BMW Motorrad models in India include the S 1000 RR, F 750 GS, F 850 GS and the R 1250 GS / GSA.
