BMW Motorrad S1000RR deliveries are on hold

According to a media report, BMW Motorrad has paused the deliveries of the S1000RR. Buyers who have been in line for the 2023 S1000RR will now have to wait a further bit to get their hands on the chosen bike.

Deliveries on hold due to a Technical campaign

BMW has said that the bikes have been kept on hold due to a technical campaign. According to BMW Motorrad, few units of the S1000RR which come with milled levers will now get a new brake lever pin.

The company says this is a part of a technical campaign wherein a small number of these aforementioned bikes are affected. The company will replace the existing brake lever pin with a brand new one.

The company will first replace the pins of the bikes already in stock. Post replacement, BMW Motorrad will deliver them to the customers.

Powertrain of the BMW Motorrad S1000RR

The 999cc, inline four, liquid cooled engine churns out a peak power of 206.5 BHP @ 13,750 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine revs up to a maximum rpm of 14,600.

In terms of electronics, the bike gets traction control system with slide control , ABS with brake slide assist, four ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race), hill start control, bidirectional quickshifter, launch control, and pit lane limiter.

BMW will also offer the Race Pro 1 to 3 modes as an optional upgrade. The bike also gets a lightweight battery and M GPS Lap trigger.

BMW Motorrad previews the S1000RR at the India Bike Week

BMW previewed this bike at the 2022 India Bike Week, Goa. While prices have not yet been announced, it is expected to be offered in 3 variants – Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport.

The 2023 BMW S1000RR will rival the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4 and Kawasaki ZX-10R in the Indian market.
