BMW Motorrad has issued a recall for their flagship superbike, the S1000RR. The bike was launched in the Indian market earlier this year, and there is no update yet on how many bikes in India are affected by this recall. A total of 416 units of the BMW Motorrad S1000RR have been reported to have an oil leak problem, which is the reason for this recall. The BMW S1000RR rivals the likes of Ducati Panigale V4, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, etc. The bike comes to India as a CBU import.
The problem with the bike is that the oil cooler hoses might have a problem and oil could leak out. The oil hoses might not have been attached correctly and this might damage the engine in the long run. Also, the leaking oil could spill in the path of the rear tyre, which could prove fatal as the rider might loose control by having the rear tyre slip over the oil.
BMW Motorrad will connect with the buyers of these motorcycles and ask them to have their S1000RR models inspected. The nearest service station will fix this issue free of cost, and the oil cooler assembly would be replaced.

Powering the latest and greatest BMW Motorrad S1000RR is a 999cc, liquid & oil-cooled, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder motor producing 207 HP of peak power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper assist clutch and a quickshifter. The bike gets traction control, cruise control, cornering ABS, wheelie control and even a sporty M package which adds a lot more value to this supersport motorcycle.
The 2019 BMW Motorrad S1000RR is a big departure from the old bike primarily because of the design, since it dropped the asymmetrical headlamps for new sleeper projector units.
