BMW Motorrad has previewed the 2023 S1000RR at the India Bike Week 2020 in Goa. While prices have not yet been announced, it is expected to be offered in 3 variants – Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport.
In terms of changes, the bike gets a bunch of new upgrades compared to the outgoing model. It continues to get the sleek LED headlights, but also gets a new fairing. BMW Motorrad has also included a new aero package for better stability of the bike. The new winglets have been claimed to add up to 10 kg of additional downforce. The rear the bike has also been tweaked.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the bike also gets higher power numbers and advanced assistance systems.
The 999cc, inline four, liquid cooled engine churns out a peak power of 206.5 BHP @ 13,750 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine revs up to a maximum rpm of 14,600.
In terms of electronics, the bike gets traction control system with slide control function, ABS with brake slide assist, four ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race), hill start control, bidirectional quickshifter, launch control, and pit lane limiter.
BMW will also be offering Race Pro 1 to 3 modes as an optional upgrade. It also gets a lightweight battery and M GPS Lap trigger.
The bike has already been released in the international markets and now is being brought to the Indian shores. In terms of price, the new bike is expected to be priced above the outgoing model. The older bike was on sale at a price of INR 19.75 lakh.
The 2023 BMW S 1000 RR will rival the likes of the Ducati Panigale V4 and Kawasaki ZX-10R in the Indian market.
