BMW Motorrad India announces qualifier for International GS Trophy 2024

BMW Motorrad has announced the Indian Regional Qualifier Rounds for the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024. The rounds will be held in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi on 1st October, 15th October and 5th November respectively.

The winners in the qualifier rounds will get a chance to compete for a spot in the Team India. All the male and female BMW GS Motorcycle owners can participate in the races. The National finals will be announced at a later date.

The competitors will be given multiple challenges and evaluated based on their performance. There will also be some off-road rides and technical tests on their own GS motorbikes.

In the National Finals, participants will be given the BMW R 1250 GS to prove their skills.

The Indian National Qualifier is conducted every two years. Challenges are usually replicated from the International GS Trophy. Riders score points and the final round consists of the top points scorers who compete for a top three team position.

BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024

The top three participants will constitute Team India at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024 in Namibia. At this race, BMW Motorrad will fully equip the team with riding gears and accessories. Furthermore, each of the three riders will get a personalised, brand-new BMW GS motorcycle for the entire event.

Meanwhile, the women’s team that comes up at the National Finals will get a trip to the International Female Qualifying Round. Here, 6 women’s teams will participate alongside 16 men’s teams.

BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy

The 2024 Event at Namibia is the 9th edition of this popular trophy. Earlier events took place in South eastern Europe (Albania) in 2022, Oceania (New Zealand) in 2020, Central Asia (Mongolia) in 2018, Southeast Asia (Thailand) in 2016, North America (Canada) in 2014, South America (Chile, Argentina) in 2012, South Africa (South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique) in 2010 and North Africa (Tunisia) in 2008. There will be a total of 60 riders across 22 teams in the 2024 edition.
