BMW Motorrad has announced the addition of new colours to the brand’s entry-level models the BMW G310R and the G310GS. Each of them has received a new paint scheme, but the bike still remains the same. The BMW G310R gets a new paint called ‘Cosmic Black Two’ which is likely to replace the ‘Cosmic Black One’. In the new paint theme, the basic colour of the bike remains black while red and black decals accent the front fender, radiator shrouds and the rear cowl in place of the white decals seen on the Cosmic Black One. On the other hand, the G310GS gets a new colour called ‘Strato Blue Metallic’ likely to be in place of ‘Racing Red’. The new theme replaces the red colour on the beak and the top of the tank with a metallic blue colour and the red ‘GS’ logo with a neon yellow shade.
In terms of the mechanical hardware, both bikes remain unchanged and are still powered by the same engine which is the BMW 313cc, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined, liquid-cooled, four valves, DOHC with cam followers and a wet sump lubrication system producing 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel delivery is through an electronic fuel injection system.
Both the bikes come with a tubular space frame chassis and ride on 41mm upside-down front forks and a central spring strut with spring pre-load adjustable monoshock connected to the aluminium swing arm on the rear. The spring travel on the Roadster, G310R is 140mm on the front and 131mm on the rear while spring travel on the Adventure model, the G310GS is 180mm front as well as 180mm on the rear.
Both bikes are equipped with the same braking system which is a 300mm single disc with radially mounted 4-piston calipers on the front and a 240mm single disc with a single piston floating caliper on the rear. While the G310R is equipped with a BMW Motorrad ABS system the same is of a disengageable type on the G310GS.
The new changes have not been updated on the company’s official website, yet but the bikes are likely to be priced the same with the G310R priced at INR 2.99 lakh ex-showroom and the G310GS priced at INR 3.49 lakh ex-showroom.
