BMW Motorrad G 310 RR / S 310 RR – What to expect?

BMW Motorrad recently released a teaser image that showcases its new upcoming product. Officially they have not disclosed any details just yet, and everything is under cover. Although with the teaser image, we can make some calculated guesses. The teaser hints that BMW is working on a TVS Apache RR310-based motorcycle to rival the likes of the KTM RC 390.

Details We Have So Far

From the teaser image, we can make out that the tail-end of the motorcycle looks identical to the TVS Apache RR310. Other design highlights could include a twin-pod headlight, split-style seats, a side-slung exhaust and a vertically-mounted colour TFT display. The styling will remain pretty much the same as the TVS Apache RR310. A teaser video also shows that the BMW motorcycle will sport the same alloy wheel design as the Apache RR 310. Additionally, the teaser video also gives us a glimpse of the new graphics.

Hardware And Mechanicals

In terms of mechanicals, the BMW 310-series will retain the same hardware from the Apache RR 310. Thus the engine will be the same 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. The gearbox will be a six-speed unit. The TVS model comes with upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, and disc brakes at both ends. TVS Motor Company also offers a Built-To-Order or BTO service, wherein buyers can upgrade to an adjustable suspension setup. However, we may not see the BTO package with the BMW motorcycle.

Features

In terms of features, the TVS machine gets full-LED lighting similar to what we see in the G 310 R and G 310 GS. Other expected features include Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display and selectable riding modes, which are available with the TVS Apache RR 310.

Pricing And Launch Date

The current TVS Apache RR 310 retails at an ex-showroom price of INR 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Although, being a BMW, we expect the Bavarian motorcycle to retail at a premium over the TVS. BMW Motorrad will reveal the model on 15 July 2022.
