BMW Motorrad could refresh the S1000R design soon

BMW Motorrad could be planning to introduce the updated S1000R soon in the international market. The German premium motorcycle manufacturer is likely to give its naked liter-class motorcycle a full refresh for 2025. According to reports, BMW has registered a new design which has been leaked online offering us a glimpse of what is set for the near future. Reports also reveal that the engine and mechanical parts of the 2025 BMW S1000R are also likely to be upgraded.

Design Patents

According to the leaked design patents, BMW Motorrad is likely to bring the twin headlamp design back to S1000R. During its update in 2021, the brand had introduced the single headlamp with stacked LEDs on the S1000R which reiterated with other naked BMW products. However, the liter-class motorcycle is likely to come again with the twin split headlamp setup and a more aggressive design on the front. The brand is also likely to borrow elements from the existing motorcycle likely to fairing, radiator cowling, the tail section and the fuel tank. However, minute details on the 2025 model are likely to be model specific.

Engine

While the details on its mechanical parts are currently scarce, speculation is that BMW Motorrad is likely to offer the motorcycle with an updated engine which is likely to conform to the future emission regulations. Currently, the BMW S1000R does not come with BMW ShiftCam variable valve technology, but the 2025 model could come with ShiftCam and is likely to be the detuned version of the S1000RR engine that makes 165 Hp of power. In addition to this, its is also being speculated that the company is likely to offer the S1000R in the ‘M’ avatar which could deliver 210 Hp of power. We hope the brand offers a sensible torque with the naked street fighter to make it usable on streets.

Expect the BMW Motorrad S1000R to make its way on Indian streets after its debut in the international market.
