BMW & Mini to increase prices in India by 3% effective from 1st November 2020

BMW Group India has announced that the brand will be increasing prices across the BMW and MINI product portfolio with effect from 1 November 2020. The increase in price will be up to 3% in the Indian market. The increase in the cost is due to rising costs and depreciating currency. BMW’s locally produced range in India includes the BMW 3 Series, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X7 and MINI Countryman. 

BMW dealerships also showcase the  BMW X6, BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, BMW Z4, BMW M2 Competition, BMW M4 Coupe, BMW M5 Competition and BMW M8 Coupe which are available in the country as completely built-up units (CBU). Also, Mini dealerships showcase the Mini 3-door, Mini 5-door, Mini-Convertible, Mini Countryman, Mini Clubman and Mini John Cooper Works as CBUs.

The brand has also recently announced the launch of the locally-produced BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market. The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe will be launched in India on 15 October 2020. The BMW 2 Series shares its underpinnings with the BMW X1 and comes with front-wheel drive. Upon launch, the BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe will become the most affordable offering in the brand’s India portfolio. It rivals the likes of the Audi A3 and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan. 

The brand has also launched the limited-edition Mini-Convertible Sidewalk edition in the Indian market priced at INR 44.90 lakh ex-showroom. The Mini Convertible Sidewalk edition is offered in a special Deep Laguna Metallic exterior paint option and comes with a 3-in-1 roof that comes with the hallmark Z-folding soft top operation that has 3 stages – fully down, fully up, or halfway in-between to let the breeze in. The roof can be operated to up to 30 kmph and takes just 18 seconds to fully retract.
