Big news for the petrolheads out there. As per some reports, the first units of the second-generation BMW M2 have arrived in India. This comes in ahead of the model’s official launch. The new M2 has already made its global debut in October last year. Thus we expect BMW to introduce it in the Indian market next month. We already have shots of a pair of 2023 BMW M2s spotted at a dealership in Delhi. We see that one of the cars was done in Zandvoort Blue. Meanwhile the other got a Brooklyn Grey Metallic exterior paint shade.
The new M2 benefits from redesigned exteriors. It features a reprofiled kidney grille, single-pod headlamps, and massive wheel arches, that make the car look quite striking. The car also benefits from a set of new tail lamps and quad exhausts at the rear.
On the side, the BMW M2 now comes with M Sport seats. In fact, it also gets M Carbon bucket seats available as an option. The M2 comes loaded with features to keep the driver busy. Some of the highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch infotainment screen with connected tech and more. The updated M2 also comes with BMW’s latest iDrive8 software and M-specific controls.
In terms of engine options, the M2 continues with the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder engine. We have this engine doing the duty in the M3 and M4 as well. But for the M2, the motor has been slightly de-tuned. Thus the performance figures now read as 453 BHP and 550 Nm. Customers can have this engine mated either to an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual.
