To celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW M, the German carmaker has announced the 50 Jahre M Edition of the M5 Competition performance sedan. The car is available at INR 1,79,90,000 as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU).
The BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition gets a BMW Individual paint finish in Aventurine Red with the 50 Jahre M emblems. The car gets a gloss black kidney grille, tinted headlights with light bars towards the grille, gloss black elements like the M-specific double bars, the mesh on the M gills, mirror caps and the rear spoiler. The M compound brakes get painted callipers finished in a gloss red shade, and the exhaust tip gets a black chrome tip. The car gets 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in a Jet Black colour.
Inside, the special edition M5 comes with Aragon Brown Merino leather upholstery, M multi-function seats with integrated head restraints and an illuminated ‘M5’ logo. The car also gets exclusive functions such as M Seat belts, M footrest and pedals, M Leather Steering Wheel, seat heating (driver and front passenger), electrical seat adjustment with memory function, soft-close doors and an automatic tailgate. The M5 Competition 50 Jahre also gets a large Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) sunroof.
The M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that generates a peak power of 617 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 750 Nm @ 1,800-5,860 rpm. An 8-speed automatic gearbox handles transmission duties, sending power to all four wheels. It is also possible to drive the car in 2WD mode.
