German premium car manufacturer BMW has launched the new 2-Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market at an introductory price of INR 39.30 lakh ex-showroom, India for the SportLine trim and INR 41.40 lakh ex-showroom, India for the sportier M Sport variant. The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe is positioned below the 3-Series Sedan and it is the brand most affordable sedan car in the portfolio. The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe can be reserved for INR 50,000 from the brand’s official website online and through BMW dealerships across the country.
On the outside, the BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe features a chrome-accented kidney grille, sleek double barrel headlamp units with hexagonal LED daytime running lights, a geometric front apron with large air intakes with wing-shaped aero ducts that flank the sides in integrated with bar-style fog lamps, broad shoulder lines, a coupe-like sloping roofline, frameless doors, 17-inch 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels, L-shaped LED tail lamps, a wide rear end with a boot-lid integrated spoiler, angular rear apron with diffuser effect.
On the inside, the 2-Series Gran Coupe features a multilayered dashboard with driver-oriented controls, Illuminated Berlin interior trim finishers, contoured seats, control mounted leather-wrapped steering wheel with aluminium trim, 12.3 fully digital colour instruments cluster, a 10.25-inch iDrive touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Apple Carplay integration, parking assistant with rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest, 430-litres of luggage space, The choice of upholstery combinations includes Sensatec Oyster / Black and Sensatec Black / Black.
The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe is powered by a BS6 compliant a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 190 Hp of power and 400 Nm of torque matched to an 8-speed steptronic sport automatic transmission with launch control and driving modes such as ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport. The car accelerates from 0 -100 kmph in just 7.5 seconds.A petrol powertrain will also be offered in the near future.
The locally produced BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe comes in two variants – Sport Line and M Sport. It is also offered in 6 colour options – Alpine White, Black Saphire Metallic, Melbourne Red Metallic, Misano Blue Metallic, Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic and Storm Bay Metallic on the M Sport and 5 colour options – Alpine White, Black Saphire Metallic, Melbourne Red Metallic, Seaside Blue Metallic and Storm Bay Metallic on the Sport Line.
The BMW 2 Series will rival the likes of the Audi A3 and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan.
