German luxury car manufacturer BMW has announced that its newly launched iX electric SUV has completely sold out in India. BMW India launched the iX on December 13th, 2021, at a price tag of INR 1,15,90,000 (ex-showroom). With the first phase of bookings already open, BMW India witnessed an overwhelming response from its online and dealership customers. The brand has stated that it will begin the deliveries of the iX e-SUV at the start of April 2022.
In Q1 of 2022, BMW India will open the 2nd phase of bookings for the SUV. BMW states that the iX combines premium mobility with zero emissions and showcases sporting agility with a long operating range. Along with offering loads of luxury, the electric SUV helps BMW reduce its carbon footprint via its value chain. The brand comprehensively uses natural and recyclable materials during the production life cycle of the SUV with 100% green electricity.
The BMW iX electric SUV sports a sculptural and monolithic design language with an imposing BMW signature grille. It also holds the distinction of being the only BMW to sport the slimmest headlights and a 3D bonnet. Other elements of the iX SUV are the rectangular wheel arches, a flared shoulder area, and slim one-piece rear lights. BMW offers the iX in 4 standard colour options Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, and Sophisto Grey. Additionally, the SUV also sports the BMW Individual Aventurine Red metallic paint finish and offers exclusive, olive-leaf natural leather upholstery.
The BMW iX uses the brand’s fifth-generation eDrive technology, including a highly integrated drive unit with a single-speed transmission. With two electric motors on the front and rear axles, the SUV produces 326 PS of power. Thanks to all-wheel-drive, the EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds. BMW has implemented two high-voltage batteries on the floor of the SUV with a combined capacity of 76.6 kWh. This allows the iX to provide a driving range of up to 425 Km after every charge.
BMW offers the iX with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Along with BMW’s ConnectedDrive technology, the electric SUV offers the BMW Head-up Display with BMW Virtual Assistant and BMW Natural Interaction. Additionally, the BMW iX sports Wireless Charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and Parking Assistance.
