BMW India pledges 150 oxygen concentrators for critical care

BMW Group India announces an additional contribution of INR 5 crore over the earlier commitment of INR 3 crore. This donation will aim to strengthen the fight against the 2nd wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. BMW mentioned that its main focus is to improve the healthcare facilities in Gurugram and Chengalpattu. The Group is also in partnership with multiple government and non-government organisations to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic. To bridge the gap in the shortage of oxygen, BMW Group imported 150 oxygen concentrators for the critical care of Covid-19 patients. GiveIndia, a non-government organisation, will utilise these oxygen concentrators as and when required.

BMW Helps In Strengthening The HealthCare Infrastructure

BMW Foundation India is taking necessary steps towards providing its support to enhance the services of the healthcare facilities. The BMW Group mentioned that they had built an isolation ward and PCR Lan at Chengalpattu Government Hospital. And, there are plans to add an RT-PCR lab and microbial detection system to help with the Covid-19 testing. BMW Foundation has joined its hands with the Gurugram District Health Administrator to assist with Covid-19 testing. The foundation has provided Mobile Vans and Rapid Antigen kits to speed up the Covid-19 testing. The Group has also offered Critical care equipment to Gurugram Civil Hospital and building an Isolation ward for the police department at Manesar.

BMW Group India’s Initiative For Its Employees Welfare

BMW Group is also taking various measures for the welfare of employees. The Group has tied up with leading hospitals to take up the vaccination drive of their employees and their family members. A ‘Doctor-On-Call’ is also available to guide with the prevention, home testing, treatment, consultation and ambulance services. Employees facing stress-related issues can also communicate over this ‘Doctor-On-Call’ facility who will provide all the professional assistance. The health insurance for the employees and their dependents covers mediclaim related to Covid-19 treatment, thus ensuring peace of mind. Term life insurance will also enable the employee’s dependent to receive the monthly gross salary for the next three years.
