BMW has opened bookings for the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition in India. Interested customers can place an order for the car by paying a token amount of INR 1,50,000. The order has to be placed at the BMW Online Shop. BMW says only a limited number of units of the car will be available.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition
The M Performance Edition comes with a host of exterior cosmetic updates. BMW is offering this version of the 2 Series Gran Coupe only in a single paint shade of Black Sapphire colour. The car also gets silver elements in the grille, bumper and ORVMs. BMW has also specced this car with M Performance grille, gear selector and other M-specific elements.
On the inside, the BMW 220i M Performance comes with a black and beige interior. BMW has not released the full feature list, but some of them are likely to be carried over from the regular 2 Series. These include dual 10.25-inch displays – one each for the infotainment and the driver, a head-up display, wireless charger and dual-zone climate control amongst others.
In terms of safety features, the car gets six airbags as standard.
Powertrain of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This motor is rated at 176 BHP and 280 Nm of peak torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles the transmission duties. BMW says the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
Pricing and Launch of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition
BMW is likely to announce the price of this limited edition model on 7 September 2023. In terms of price, we can expect this variant to be priced above the current M Sport variants of the 2 Series. This means a price greater than INR 45.50 lakh. In India, the 2 Series competes with the Mercedes-Benz A Class.
