BMW India has brought in two new diesel variants of the X3. These are namely 20d xLine and 20d M Sport. Customers can get these variants with the price tag starting from INR 67.50 lakh and INR 69.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) respectively.
In terms of design, we see some subtle updates. The new BMW X3 diesel variants now equip the signature kidney grille with vertical air inlets. We also get to see adaptive LED headlamps and LED tail lights. The M sport package further adds the M model inscription on the front quarter panels and tailpipes in a gloss chrome finish, thus giving it a more striking personality. There’s also a front apron with larger air inlets, multiple inserts such as window graphics, roof rails, and BMW kidney frame and bars finished in high-gloss black. The M Sport trim gets the 19-inch Y-spoke M alloy wheels.
Come inside and the BMW X3 diesel surprises you more. It comes equipped with a multifunction M-Sport steering wheel which is the main highlight. Then, It also gets electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and three-zone automatic climate control. We also see a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument console, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity. With gesture control, life gets much easier thus adding to the convenience. HUD, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and a 464W Harman Kardon-sourced 16-speaker music system further add to the features list.
In terms of engine options, we get a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. This motor makes an output of 190bhp and 400 Nm of torque. X3 benefits from AWD system, thus power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims a 0-100kmph timing of 7.9 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is set at 213 kmph.
Another key other notable feature of the BMW X3 diesel includes adaptive suspension and individual electronically controlled dampers. The SUV also benefits from paddle shifters, cruise control with braking function, six airbags, electronically controlled automatic differential brakes/locks, dynamic traction control, hill start assist, and hill descent control. In terms of colours, customers can have the SUV in Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, and Brooklyn Grey. Customers also get to choose from two interior themes, namely, Canberra Beige, and Black and Cognac.
