BMW HP4 Race now in India for INR 85 lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched the HP4 Race superbike in India. This race-spec motorcycle has been priced at an astronomical INR 85 lakh, ex-showroom. Built extensively out of carbon fibre, this exotic superbike comes with the best equipment one can expect on a motorcycle. This is not a street-legal motorcycle.

Powering the HP4 is a litre-class motor producing 215 HP of power @ 13900 RPM and 120 Nm of torque @ 10000 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The gearbox has a close-ratio transmission, specifically developed for track riding. But get this, every 5,000 km you ride this motorcycle, you will need to fully rebuild the engine to churn out the best performance.

The chassis of the BMW MP4 Race is full carbon fibre, and weighs just 7.8 kg. The wheels are also made of carbon fibre, 30% lighter than the forged alloy wheels. While the standard S1000RR weighs 208 kg, the HP4 Race weighs just 171 kg. This makes it lighter than even the WSBK factory motorcycles.

The HP4 Race comes with an Ohlins FGR 300 USD front fork, Ohlins TTX 36 GP rear monoshock, Brembo GP4 PR monoblock brake calipers and titanium pistons for the caliper. The bike is dispatched with Pirelli Diablo Superbike Slick SC2 tyres. Riders cal also personally select the engine braking from the motorcycle, and other electronic features include traction control, wheelie control, pit lane limiter, launch control, a digital display and much more.

Customers can buy the HP4 Race only in one colour option, pictured in this article. This is an exclusive superbike, limited to only 750 units globally.
