The 2022 BMW G 310 R has arrived in India but is now INR 5,000 more expensive. After unveiling the motorcycle in the global market, the motorcycle has finally arrived with a price tag of INR 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom). With the increase in price, customers now have three new colour options to choose from. These are Polar White with Racing Blue, Racing Red and Cosmic Black. Other than this, there’s no other change whatsoever. And hence technically and aesthetically, the motorcycle is exactly the same as the previous model.
Powering the motorcycle is a 313cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that churns out 33.5bhp and 28Nm. The motorcycle gets a six-speed gearbox unit with the slip and assist clutch function. The equipped 17-inch alloy wheels get the support of USDs at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking power comes from a single disc set up both for the front and rear. Dual channel ABS is a standard fitment for the motorcycle.
The overall styling of the motorcycle has some similarities with the S 1000 R. The low-slung headlamp and muscular fuel tank alongside the raked and stubby tail portion give the bike a very aggressive stance. The use of a red-coloured frame and wheels for the red and white colour options make the motorcycle even look more attractive. As far as the features is concerned, the motorcycle is a no slouch either. There’s an adjustable clutch and brake levers, a full-LED lighting system, a fully-digital instrument cluster and much more.
There are multiple 300cc motorcycles in today’s market. One that competes against the G 310 R is the KTM 390 Duke and the Kawasaki Z400. Interestingly, BMW will soon launch the G 310 RR, which is the fully faired version of the G 310 R today.
