BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé & M8 Coupé launched starting at INR 1.3 crore

German premium carmaker, BMW has launched the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé and the BMW M8 Coupé in the Indian market using a digital platform. The brand has launched the four-door BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé at the price starting INR 1,29,90,000 and the two-door performance-oriented BMW M8 Coupé at INR 2,15,00,000 in the Indian market.

In terms of its design and styling, the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé comes with four frameless doors, long wheelbase and sloping coupé-style roof. The 8 Series features angular kidney grille that widens towards the bottom finished in gloss black, slim LED headlamp units, LED wraparound taillights, a muscular bonnet with raised ridges, a large air dam with a splitter style bumper, large air intakes that flank the front bumper, boot integrated lip spoiler, aero ducts on the rear bumper, chrome exhaust outlets, chrome window sills, fender gills and large alloy wheels. 

The 8 Series Gran Coupé also comes in the M Sport package that features BMW Laser light technology on the headlights, chrome line ‘BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line’, M aerodynamic package, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels with M lettering, larger air intakes, side skirts and Dark Shadow metallic inserts on the rear bumper.

On the interiors, the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé features WalkNappa leather interiors with crafted clarity glass trim and multiple options on interior colours. The 8 Series Gran Coupé also features a two-part panoramic glass roof extending seamlessly into the rear, ambient lighting with six options, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, 10.25-inch infotainment system with latest generation telematics and surround sound audio. The M Sport package offers M lettering on upholstery, M leather steering wheel, exclusive BMW Individual extended ‘Merino’ leather trim etc. 

Both the 840i and the 840i M Sport are powered by a BS6 compliant 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo straight-six cylinder petrol engine that produces 340 Hp and 500 Nm of torque matched to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, M Sport differential, adaptive suspension and driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport+. 

The BMW M8 Coupé features a two-door Coupé styled body with an M specific double slated hexagonal kidney grille that wides towards the bottom, shark-nose front apron, large air intakes on the front for the high-performance engine and the brake cooling, M gills, M carbon-fibre roof, M specific lip spoiler, M specific M8 rear diffuser and M specific double-flow exhaust system with quad tips and new metallic exterior paints – Brands Hatch Grey, Sonic Speed Blue, Marina Bay Blue, Donington Grey, Barcelona Blue and Motegi Red.

On the interior, the M8 Coupé features a driver-focused cabin, low seating position, grouped control cluster, M Sport Seats, illuminated ‘M8’ logo in the headrest, ambient lighting with six selections, Harman Kardon surround-sound audio, optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system,  a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, 10.25-inch infotainment system with latest generation telematics and more.

The M8 Coupé is powered by a BS6 compliant 4.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo V-8 cylinder petrol engine that produces 600 Hp of power and 750 Nm of torque matched to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with M Sport Differential, M xDrive – intelligent all-wheel-drive technology, Adaptive M Suspension and Comfort, Sport, Sport+ driving modes. The Coupé also comes with M Mode selector, M dynamic mode and M Setup.
