Chinese Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Benelli has announced that the Leoncino 800 and the Leoncino 800 Trail will be arriving in the UK early next year. The scrambler motorcycle is also expected to make its debut in the Indian market after its launch in the international market. The 2021 Benelli Leoncino 800 & Leoncino 800 Trail has been unveiled by the brand and comes in the standard road-biased version and the off-road capable Trail version.
The Leoncino 800 comes with modern-classic scrambler styling and features vertically-stacked elliptical headlamp, LED tail lamps and LED indicators, a muscular tank design with the Benelli seal and trim badge, exposed frame and engine, wide and upright handlebars, bench seating with vintage style pleating, minimalist tail end and a side slung exhaust. The Leoncino 800 Trail features a rally-style flyscreen, flat-track style side panel with race patch, upswept dual-pipe exhaust and an exclusive Green shade with yellow accented branding. Both the bikes also feature latest-technology TFT instruments cluster.
Both the Leoncino 800 and the Leoncino 800 Trial are expected to share the powertrain which is expected to be a Euro5 emission compliant 754cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder four-stroke four-valves per cylinder DOHC motor that produces 81.6 Hp of power and 67 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a wet anti-slip clutch. The Leoncino 800 and 800 Trail will feature a tubular steel trellis frame with reinforcement plates that ride on 50mm diameter Marzocchi up-side-down front fork suspension with adjustable rebound, compression and pre-load and 10mm longer travel on the Trail variant. The Leoncino also comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross spoked wire rims.
The Leoncino 800 and the Leoncino 800 Trail are also expected to be launched in India in the BS6 avatar. Currently, Benelli only has one motorcycle in its BS6 compliant portfolio in the Indian market which is the Benelli Imperiale 400. The retro-classic BS6 Benelli Imperiale 400 is retailed at the price of INR 1.99 lakh ex-showroom in the Indian market.
