Benelli along with their partner in India Adishwar Auto Ride India – Mahavir Group have launched a new 250cc motorcycle in India. The neo-retro Benelli Leoncino 250 has been launched in India at a price of INR 2.5 lakh ex-showroom and in a way rivals the bigger engined Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 just based on pricing. The bike however is more of a rival to the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350, KTM Duke 250, Bajaj Dominar 400 and other such bikes in this price range.

Leoncino is a modern-classic range of motorcycles from Benelli and has typical old school design traits with a healthy dose of modern components. The bike has been launched in India with a 3-year / unlimited km warranty and the bike can be booked for a fully refundable amount of INR 6,000 across all Benelli showrooms and even online. The 2019 Benelli Leoncino 250 will be available in white, grey, red & brown paint options.

Powering the Leoncino 250 in India is a 249cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid0-cooled, DOHC petrol motor producing 25.8 PS of power @ 9250 RPM and 21 Nm of torque @ 8000 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with a fuel-injection system and has a dual-channel ABS system for safety backed by single disc brakes at the front and back.

The Leoncino 250 measures 2030mm in length, 840mm in width, 1115mm in height, 1380mm in wheelbase, has a ground clearance of 170mm and seat height of 810mm with a kerb weight of 162 kg. The Leoncino 250 comes with a 12.5L fuel tank capacity. The bike rides on a steel trellis chassis with 41mm USD front forks and a pre-load adjustable rear monoshock. The bike gets tubeless radial tyres mounted on alloy wheels.

Similar to the elder sibling, the Benelli Leoncino 250 comes with LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, full digital instrument cluster unique to the Leoncino 250, full size exhaust, single-piece seat, rear mud guard with number plate housing over the tyre, small Lion which is laser-cut placed on the front mud guard, round rear view mirrors, blacked out engine, etc.
