A Jaipur based electric mobility solutions company has launched its first electric scooter in India called the Batt:Mobile. The electric scooter comes with retro-classic styling and has a price tag of INR 62,555 ex-showroom. The Batt:Mobile features a round LED headlight on the front apron with minimalist design, the handlebar is in chrome finish and is kept exposed and does not get a cover conventionally found on scooters. The instrument cluster is a Bluetooth enabled fully digital unit and the scooter gets a small tinted fly screen. The taillight and the turn signal lamps are also LED and the tail lamps get a smoked finish cover.
Features include keyless ignition, Anti-theft alarm, an optional USB charger, front bottle holder with extra storage, under seat storage space, etc. Other hardware on the electric scooter includes 10-inch alloy wheels with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. The scooter gets 150mm of ground clearance and the suspension is a hydraulic shock absorber on both ends. The kerb weight of the scooter is 65 kgs and the exterior dimensions measure in at 1800mm in length, 700mm in width and 1100mm in height.
The powertrain on the electric scooter is a 48V, 30Ah, lithium-ion, Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery which is coupled to a Brushless DC motor and can deliver 90 km of range on a single charge. The battery pack can be recharged in 4 hours via a 110V-220V 6A charger and the battery life is good for 2000 cycles. The battery can also be removed and charged through a wall socket.
The Batt:Mobile will directly compete with the Ampere Vehicle’s Zeal electric scooter which is powered by a 12kW Brushless DC motor connected to a 60V, 30Ah battery which can deliver a real-world range of 75 km with a top speed of 55 kmph. The battery can be completely charged in 5.5 hours. The kerb weight of the electric scooter is 78 kg. The Zeal electric scooter is priced at INR 66,950 in Bengaluru.
