Bajaj is planning to introduce a new motorcycle in its Pulsar range. The brand is currently running a teaser through its Instagram channel which reveals the new Pulsar motorcycle. Looking at the silhouette as well as its close up detail we can confirm it will be in the popular ‘NS’ portfolio. However, the brand has not yet confirmed which ‘NS’ will the new bike be. This is leading to a speculation that the motorcycle could be the bigger Pulsar NS400.
Bajaj Pulsar Teaser – NS200 or NS400?
However, the engine casings and the unchanged overall design leads us to believe that the brand is getting ready to launch a refreshed Pulsar NS200. The teaser video is a quick cut fast video which does not reveal any details. But if the motorcycle is the NS400 it could come with a similar design but more aggressive front fascia.
In addition to this, the brand is likely to have strengthened the chassis which in the video looks very similar to the NS200’s perimeter frame. In addition to this, a reflection of the fuel tank at the end also shows the same digital-analogue blue backlit instruments cluster.
If its is the Pulsar NS200, there might be a bump in its pricing and mild cosmetic upgrades to it. However, mechanically the motorcycle is likely to remain the same. If the motorcycle turns out to be the NS400, the bike is likely to use the powertrain from the Bajaj Dominar 400 and is likely to be positioned below the Dominar 400.
Bajaj Pulsar Teaser – Competition in Mid-Segment
With less equipment and features and streamlining the production Bajaj is likely to offer a very very competitive product. In the 400cc motorcycle market, the Bajaj NS400 is likely to compete primarily with the Hero Mavrick 440. Bajaj is also likely export the motorcycle to international markets where the demand for the mid-segment bikes are high. The NS400 could also become the country’s most affordable mid-segment motorcycle.
