Bajaj sets up more than 250 Covid-19 care beds for employees & their families

Bajaj Auto extends its support to fight the second wave of Covid-19. In the latest policy announcement, the company launched a host of new initiatives for its employees. This is in addition to other several programs taken by the company for the past year. These new programs mainly aim to take care of the employees’ mental well-being and their dependents. The current situation in the country calls for support from multiple aspects, and recently many automotive companies have come forward. Bajaj Auto is also one of these automotive firms taking all the necessary steps to help bring back normalcy.

Bajaj Will Provide Monetary Assistance To its Employees and Their Dependents

In the new policy, Bajaj Auto mentions everything related to the financial support for its employees in the Covid-19 pandemic. In case of an unfortunate demise of an employee due to Covid-19, Bajaj Auto will provide monetary support for their family members over two years. The company will also take care of the dependent children’s education till graduation in any field of their choice. To further support the family members, Bajaj will cover 5-year hospitalisation insurance for the family members of the deceased employee. Thus, all these measures go a long way in providing mental strength for the employees and their family members.

Bajaj Auto’s Support For Covid-19

Recently, the company pledged a total of INR 300 Crore to help fight the deadly virus. This aims to benefit various government, local administration and NGOs. To help fill the gap in the shortage of oxygen supply, Bajaj Auto helped in the procurement of 12 oxygen plants and other respiratory equipment. In the first wave, the company started a 32-bed facility at its Akurdi plant. Bajaj Auto currently operates Covid centres in Waluj (200 beds), Chakan (16-bed) and Pantnagar (15-bed). In addition to these, the company also took other measures like distributing 7,500 food packets, creating medical infrastructure and providing food to the daily labourers, providing the local police with motorcycles and more.
