Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch yet another product in the Indian market and this time it is likely to be in the mid-segment where the brand envisions a lot of scopes to grow. The brand may be planning to bring the Pulsar NS 125 to the Indian markets, which is already on sale in the European markets, but there has been no official confirmation of the same yet.
According to a media report, the brand’s 125cc mid-segment motorcycle Discover 125 is not doing well, and to gain back the volumes in a segment which has a strength of about 2.5 lakh units per month, the brand is considering to work on a new model for India.
It is likely to use the available 124.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, twin-spark, DTSi engine which develops 11 PS of power @ 7,500 RPM and 11 Nm of torque @ 5,500 RPM. The engine is likely to be updated to BSVI standards and will be getting a fuel injection system. If the brand decides to bring the Pulsar NS 125 which is powered by a fuel-injected motor, it produces 12 PS of power @ 8,500 RPM and 11 Nm of torque @ 6,000 RPM coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel-injected motor does have a better performance and is likely to be BSVI compliant from the day of its launch. With BSVI, Bajaj will also be able to compete with other brands who have already announced their BSVI two-wheelers. And if the Pulsar NS 125 comes to the Indian market it will come with a split seat, clip-on style handlebars, bikini fairing, twin-pilot headlamps, LED tail lamps, split grab rails, and more.
The brand has recently launched the new CT110 and the Platina 110 H Gear entry-level motorcycles recently and is now expected to launch motorcycles in the Pulsar range. As of now, further details about the launch are unavailable, but if sources are to be believed the bike is slated to reach the showrooms soon.
