Bajaj Pulsar 200SS confirmed for early 2015

Bajaj will launch the Pulsar 200SS in the first quarter of 2015. Meanwhile, the manufacturer will continue rigorous testing of the motorcycle to iron out niggles, if any.

Powering the Pulsar 200SS will be the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, triple-spark, petrol motor currently available on the 200NS. However, Bajaj could add fuel injection on the 200SS and the power and torque figures could be sightly different. Also, expect the bike to be slightly heavier than the 200NS. The international variant of the 200NS which is equipped with fuel injection pumps out 24.4 PS, may be the power figures are similar on the 200SS.

Features:

  • Full fairing
  • Dual projector headlamp setup
  • LED DRLs
  • LED tail lamp
  • Front and rear disc brake
  • Telescopic front fork and rear monoshock
  • Split seats
  • Clip-on handlebar
  • Digital + analogue instrument cluster
  • Rear view mirrors mounted on the fairing

Expected pricing is around Rs. 1.4 lakh (on-road). It is unclear if Bajaj will provide ABS as optional, but since the KTM RC200 does not, it seems unlikely.

The Pulsar 200SS reaching out to the customers in 2015 also means that the launch of Pulsar 400SS and CS400 could be pushed forward.
