Bajaj launches Platina 100 Kick Start model priced at INR 51,667

Bajaj Auto has launched a new & improved version of their Platina commuter motorcycle. The new Bajaj Platina 100 Kick Start (KS) model has been priced at INR 51,667 ex-showroom and will be sold in a new wine red & ebony black paint scheme. The new bike will go on sale across all Bajaj dealerships in the country. The Platina brand has been very popular in the commuter segment as the mass market has accepted it well, and this new model is expected to drive more sales.

Powering the Bajaj Platina 100 KS is a 102cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke, BS6 compliant petrol engine which produces 7.9 PS of peak power @ 7500 RPM and 8.34 Nm of peak torque @ 5500 RPM matched to a 4-speed gearbox. Bajaj claims that the Platina can achieve a top speed of 90 kmph. The bike rides on a tubular single down tube chassis with a lower cradle frame and has 135mm of front suspension travel and 110mm of rear suspension travel. This model comes with a drum brake setup at both the front and rear and has the safety new of combi-brakes. The Platina 110 KS has a 11L fuel tank, 117 kg of kerb weight and makes use of 17″ tubeless tyres.

Bajaj claims that the new spring-on-spring Nitrox suspension on the bike offers 15% better comfort than before on long rides. Other feature additions on this bike includes hand guards / knuckle guards, 20% longer front and rear suspension for better comfort on bad roads, quilted seat cover, LED DRL on the headlamp, new tank pad, new turn indicators, new design for the rear view mirrors and wider foot pads with a rubber top for better grip. The bike also features alloy wheels, full chain cover, pillion grab rail, heel & toe gear shifter and new body decals.

Bajaj has sold more than 72 lakh units of the Platina motorcycle in the last 15 years and it is trusted by the mass market for its reliability, mileage and comfort.
