Bajaj Auto has unveiled the new Pulsar N125, expanding its popular 125cc motorcycle range. This new model is expected to rival the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R, aiming to capture a significant share of the premium commuter and street motorcycle segment in India.
Design and Features
The Pulsar N125 boasts an aggressive design with a muscular tank, an angular headlight, and a digital instrument console. The bike features a sculpted fuel tank, split seat, and a single-piece rear grab rail, giving it a sporty and robust appearance. The bike rides on alloy wheels and is equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The LED headlamp and tail lamp add to its modern look. A new purple colourway has also been introduced with the new Pulsar N125.
Powertrain and Performance
The Pulsar N125 is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine, producing around 12 BHP and 11 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery. The bike is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, providing reliable stopping power.
Market Impact and Competition
The launch of the Pulsar N125 is expected to intensify competition in the 125cc motorcycle segment. The TVS Raider, with its 124.8cc air-cooled engine producing 11.38 PS and a fuel tank capacity of 10 liters, has been a strong contender in this segment. The Raider also features a digital instrument console, riding modes, and underseat storage, making it a popular choice among buyers.
Customer Expectations
Bajaj will need to ensure that the Pulsar N125 meets the high expectations of Indian consumers in terms of performance, reliability, and value for money. The company’s focus on advanced features, such as Bluetooth connectivity and riding modes, will be crucial in attracting buyers. Competitive pricing and attractive financing options will also play a key role in the bike’s success.
