Bajaj launches Avenger 220 Street variant at INR 1,42,029

Bajaj has brought in a sleeker variant of the Avenger 220 Cruise. This motorcycle will largely aim for the urban commute. Called the Avenger 220 Street, this motorcycle will retail with a price tag of INR 1,42,029 (ex-showroom Pune). This pricing is very much identical to the 220 Cruise. Cruiser motorcycles are getting increasingly popular in the Indian market. With more takers for two-wheelers currently, customers are exploring their options. The trend has been that customers are now looking away from traditional motorcycles, and thus the sales for cruisers are on the rise.

What Are The Key Changes With The Avenger 220 Street?

At first glance, the Avenger 220 Street carries a similar to the Avenger 160 Street. We see it getting the trademark circular halogen headlight with an LED DRL. There’s also a small cowl (instead of a large flyscreen) upfront. In fact, it also gets a black alloy grab rail instead of a chrome pillion backrest and 17-/15-inch alloys. But there are some subtle differences. First is that the Avenger Street 220 gets a single-pod digital console, instead of Street 160’s analogue console. Although both get tell-tale lights on the tank and not on the instrument cluster.

Avenger 220 Street Engine Options

As understood by the name, of course, the Avenger Street 220 benefits from the same 220cc air-cooled engine as the Avenger Cruise 220. This motor makes 19.03PS and 17.55Nm. Another point of similarity is the braking setup. It consists of a 280mm disc up front and a 130mm drum at the rear, with single-channel ABS.

Another Option To Rival The Avenger 220 Street

The Avenger 220 Street is currently among the most affordable cruisers in India. This offering is undercut only by its smaller 160cc sibling. Cruisers offering similar performance to rival the Avenger 220 are there, but less in number. This includes the likes of the Keeway K-Light 250V. But this is almost twice as expensive. Another option in a similar price range is the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
