Bajaj GoGo electric three-wheelers – all details

The newly introduced GoGo brand is Bajaj’s new venture into the electric commercial vehicle space. The GoGo electric three-wheelers have been launched with a starting price of Rs 3,26,797 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Currently, there are three different variants available, called the P5009, P5012, and P7012. The unique naming of these EVs has been done based on the categorization where the P – means passengers, 5 and 7 mean the size of the EV, and the 9 and 12 indicate the battery sizes.

The newly debuted e-autos are available in two battery options that include 9 kWh and 12 kWh lithium-ion packs. Both battery options are mated to a rear axle-mounted electric motor that has two gears – front and reverse. The maximum claimed range is 251 km per charge under unloaded conditions.

In terms of technology and features, the GoGo e-autos are equipped with a full-metal body and a strong chassis. Moreover, Bajaj claims that its unique battery and motor combination provides better gradability and efficiency.

Other crucial features include the segment-first Auto Hazard lights and Auto-Roll Detection features that help in extreme and unsafe driving conditions. Customers can also choose the ‘Premium TecPac’ set of features that add convenience like reverse assist and remote immobilisation.

As of now, Bajaj is offering a standard 5-year warranty on the GoGo electric three-wheeler range.

Our verdict

Bajaj has finally stepped into the electric commercial vehicle segment in India. This segment has been largely taken over by the rival brands Mahindra and TVS for now, but with the GoGo e-autos, Bajaj has high hopes of snatching a bigger piece of the EV sales in the segment.
