Bajaj Dominar 400 price hiked again

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Bajaj’s Dominar 400 is a good motorcycle, there is no doubt about it. But it seems like their campaigns to take a dig at the Royal Enfield clan have worked against themselves, and hence, the bike isn’t selling as much as the brand expected. Now, Bajaj has yet again hiked the prices of the Dominar 400, which is their flagship motorcycle.

With an effective price hike of INR 2,000, the Bajaj Dominar 400 now starts at INR 1.48 lakh for the standard version and INR 1.62 lakh for the ABS variant. It is noteworthy that the total price hike since the time of launch has now reached INR 12,000. So Bajaj needs to keep a check on the value proposition of the Dominar 400 in the future. For now, it is just fine.

The Dominar 400 comes with class leading features such as a dual channel ABS, LED headlamp & tail lamp, liquid-cooling and split instrument console. It still does feel like a balanced motorcycle at the increased price tag. Also, Bajaj is currently offering 5 years warranty on the Dominar 400.

As a rival the Bajaj Dominar 400 has the Royal Enfield Classic 350 & Thunderbird X along with the flop Mahindra Mojo.

Powering the Dominar 400 is a 373.3cc, single–cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, triple-spark, 4-valve, DTS-i motor producing 35 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 35 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper assist clutch.
