Bajaj CNG motorcycle has a bi-fuel switch & long seat

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Bajaj will be launching the world’s first CNG motorcycle tomorrow. The Managing Director of the company Mr Rajiv Bajaj will be hosting the event and the honours of the unveil have been entrusted to Shri Nitin Gadkari the Road Transport and Highways Minister. Now, the brand has released a teaser on its official social media platform revealing key details of the new Bajaj CNG motorcycle.

Urban Design

The teaser reveals a partial silhouette of the motorcycle which gives us a hint of what to expect tomorrow. The Bajaj CNG motorcycle is likely to come with a rounded LED headlamp and is also likely to feature a long seat. The conventional petrol tank appears to be quite small and similar in design to old-school enduro motorcycles. In addition to the regular petrol tank, the motorcycle is also likely to come with a separate CNG tank.

CNG + Petrol – Bi-Fuel

This CNG tank is likely to take up slightly more space than the petrol tank. This also means that the Bajaj CNG motorcycle is a Bi-Fuel vehicle, that will be capable of running on both petrol and CNG. This has also been confirmed in the teaser as a switch which will allow the rider to switch between the fuels is likely to be placed on the handlebar.

With clever on-board electronics the switch between the fuels is likely to be seamless, however we will only find that out when we ride the motorcycle ourselves. The second image is likely to be of the CNG filler lid, however, the brand has not yet explained what it is. The brand has not even revealed the name of the motorcycle, but several names have been filed at the intellectual property office which includes Bruzer, Freedom, Fighter and Glider.
